Blood Drive
Tuesday, October 13 1-7 PM
A blood drive will be held on Tuesday, October 13 at the church. Hours will be 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. You can sign up at Keystone/Miller website or contact John Hoffman at 570-413-4474 for assistance in getting a time slot. More info to follow. Please plan on donating if you are able, blood is always needed.
BQE Concert
Sunday, November 8 3 PM
MARK YOUR CALENDAR – Sunday, November 8 at 3 p.m. St. John’s will present the BQE Strings, Mastero Randall D. Perry and Ms. Claudia Handlovic.
This year will mark the third year the BQE Strings will be presented for a fabulous concert at St. John’s along with the very talented Randall D. Perry, Maestro of the Bach and Handel Chorale and Ms. Claudia Handlovic, Romanian trained vocalist. This year’s concert will honor America 250 with special attention to our military-past, present and future. All military members are admitted free of charge and ticket price for all others is $20 per person. The BQE Strings will present music from Bach to the Beatles and the concert promises to be brilliant! Mr. Perry will also present musical numbers and accompany Ms. Handlovic.
Tickets can be purchased by contacting Irene Remmel at 570-325-4534. Advanced ticket purchases are recommended however tickets can also be purchased day of the concert.

Annual Halloween Party
Sunday, October 25 from 5 to 7 p.m.
St. John’s Sunday School will hold it’s annual Halloween Party on Sunday, October 25 from 5 to 7 p.m. The event will feature the grand costume march, dance party, the movie “It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown” with pizza and snacks for the kids and parents alike. Plan to attend with your children for this fun Halloween time event.
World Hunger Sunday
Sunday, November 1 during the Sunday School hour
World Hunger Sunday will be held on Sunday, November 1 during the Sunday School hour. The children will present their World Hunger Banks and will pour their offerings into our big jug which then will be counted and added to donations from our congregation members. These offerings will be presented to our Northeast Synod to assist the hunger programs. Also on that day Pastor Thompson will bless our children’s backpacks.
Nativity Display Returns to St. John’s
Saturday, December 5 and Sunday December 6, 2026
St. John’s will again present their Nativity Display on Saturday, December 5 and Sunday December 6, 2026 at the church. The display will feature hundreds of different Nativity displays from our congregation members. Free transportation will be provided for visitors to Jim Thorpe from the downtown area to the church and back to the downtown on both days from 12:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. More details to come!
