St. John's in Jim Thorpe

Choir

The choir of St. John’s provides musical anthems for the glory of God. The choir
practices weekly on Thursday evening at 7:00pm at the church. We have
special anthems to correspond with the church calendar year. The choir takes
orders for Christmas and Easter flowers for congregation members. There are
sign ups for orders at the back of the church a few weeks before Christmas and
Easter. The choir loves to inspire the congregation and encourages anyone
who loves to sing to join us. The choir director is Dr. Leta Thompson. You can

organist is Ruth Kistler, who has been doing a wonderful job for us over the
years. We feel fortunate to have her with us.

Sunday School/Youth Group

The Sunday School/Youth Group runs from September through May, beginning at 9:15am Sunday mornings. The purpose of the ministry is to spread God's word and love to the children, youth, and parents. In addition to weekly classes, various activities are planned throughout the year for fun as well as outreach through the World Hunger Drive. Throughout the year we have Rally Day at the beginning of the new Sunday School year, Family Fun Day, Halloween Party, Christmas Program, sledding, Easter Egg hunt, and fun crafts. All children, Nursery through 12th grade, are welcome to join us on Sunday mornings. You need not be a member of the church.
